They rebelled the brutality of so called omnipotent powers that be. They sacrificed everything for the downtrodden and oppressed, And to tried to redeem them. They negates Autocracy, Feudalism Imperialism, Fanaticism and Inhumanity that came and to come. They will eternally remain in the golden pages of History. Everything else will be wiped off to oblivion SPARTACUS is the epitome for all those who fought against human servitude. Revolutionary scientific pioneers can be named by a single term GALILEO. Blood that shed at the streets of CHICAGO is the Symbol of Unconquered minds of the workers and peasants.

Under the leadership of DYFI, the youth in India are engaged in a historic agitation against commercialization of education since the 1980s. In 1994 November 25th, five youth comrades at Koothuparambu in Kerala state were shot dead by the police. They opened fire on leftist workers at Koothuparambu, Kannur, when they tried to block M.V. Raghavan - CPI(M)'s bete noir and a minister in the UDF government. Raghavan was arrested in the same case after some years after a commission probing the incident found him responsible for the firing incident. The commission also said the firing was unprovoked and unjustified. The youth assembled there for protesting against commercialization of education. The victims were Com. Shibu Lal, Com. Roshan, Com. Babu, Com. Madhu and Com. Rajeevan along with the living martyr Com. Pushpan. This martyrdom might be the first of its kind in the neo-liberal period. The fight against commercialization is continuing in various parts of the country. We have a strong history of anti-imperialist struggle and anti-war movement.

In the long battle of DYFI against the Fascist, Terrorist forces and the dirty policies of the ruling class, a good number of DYFI youths sacrificed their precious lives continuous fighting. After the Koothuparambu incident, lot many young comrades of DYFI who raised their voice against the Fascist, Terrorist forces and the dirty policies of the ruling class had lost their life in various brutal attacks done by RSS/BJP/Congress criminals and goons.
